PANS Clinical Guideline Development Group

Forming one of the four working groups under the umbrella of the PANS PANDAS Steering Group, the PANS Clinical Guideline Development Group (GDG) began work in April 2024.

This effort represents a key element of the PPSG’s commitment to work collaboratively to develop standards of care for patients presenting with acute-onset neuropsychiatric symptoms in the UK.

Working closely with the Guidelines team at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, the GDG is comprised of stakeholders from all relevant areas of health and lay members (parent and patient) from the PANS PANDAS community.

PANS PANDAS UK documents laid out on meeting tables

Whilst work to develop these guidelines proceeds, the PPSG refers all clinicians to our 2023 statement and 2024 update.

The PPSG recommends that clinicians be aware of existing international peer-reviewed guidelines until UK national treatment guidelines are published.
